Who we are
This website is run by Weslyan Heritage for Development ("WHD", "we", "us"), a faith-informed community development organisation working in Osun State, Nigeria. We are responsible for the personal information collected through this website.
You can reach us at weslyanheritage4dev@gmail.com, by phone on +234 816 352 7830, or at Zone 8, Unity Estate, Behind Capital Hotel, Iwo/Ibadan Express Way, Oke Arungbo Community, Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us through the forms on this website:
- Contact form: your name, email address and message, plus a phone number and subject if you add them.
- Newsletter sign-up: your email address.
- Donation form: your name, your email address and, if you enter one, the amount you intend to give. No card or bank details are taken on this website.
Like any website, the server that hosts this site also receives technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address and browser type.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, and to send you an email confirming we received it.
- To send the newsletter you signed up for, starting with a confirmation email.
- To contact you about a donation you told us you intend to make, including how to pay.
- To keep the website working and secure.
We use this information because you asked us to, for example by sending a message or subscribing, or because it is in our legitimate interest to respond to you and run the organisation, as the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 permits.
Cookies
This website uses a small number of cookies:
- A session cookie that keeps the site working while you browse.
- An "id" cookie that recognises your browser when you return. It lasts for up to one year.
- Sign-in cookies that are set only for our staff when they log in to manage the website.
We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies.
Other services this website uses
To display pages, your browser loads fonts, icons and scripts from Google Fonts, Cloudflare (cdnjs), unpkg and Tailwind CSS, and some images from Unsplash. These providers receive your IP address when your browser requests those files. We send emails through our email service provider.
The share buttons on our blog posts link to Facebook, X (Twitter), WhatsApp and LinkedIn. Nothing is sent to those services unless you click a button.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run this website and send email, or where the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep messages and donation details only for as long as we need them to respond to you and keep proper records. We keep your newsletter email address until you ask us to remove it.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- withdraw your consent, for example to stop receiving our newsletter;
- object to how we use your information.
To do any of these, email weslyanheritage4dev@gmail.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you send us. No website can be completely secure, so please do not send highly sensitive details through our forms.
Children
Our forms are not intended for children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
